Flying Eagles head coach Ladan Bosso has called up 40 players to begin camping in Abuja from Monday in preparation for next year’s U-20 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
The tournament is scheduled for February 18 to March 12 in the North African country.
The provisional squad is made up of five goalkeepers, nine defenders, 13 midfielders and 13 forwards.
The Nigeria Football Federation said today that the players will camp at the Serob Legacy Hotel in Abuja.
The seven-time African champions triumphed at the WAFU B U-20 Championship held in Niger Republic in May and qualified to represent the zone at the continental competition, which also serves as the qualifying tournament for the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup.
All four semi-finalists at the U-20 AFCON will represent Africa at next year’s FIFA U-20 World Cup finals in Indonesia.
The global youth tournament is scheduled for May 20 to June 11 in the Asian country.
