AT least 50 Nigerian refugees living in Nigerien town of Tumuk are feared killed after an attack by suspected Boko Haram insurgents.
The attack reportedly took place on Sunday during which residents were shot mostly at close range and houses torched
It was gathered that most of the inhabitants of the town were Nigeria from Abadan Local Government Area of Borno State, who fled to neighbouring Niger to escape the incessant onslaught of terrorists.
According to reports, as of Sunday before the attack, over 40,000 Nigerians were in the town.
But most of these people have started relocating again following the attack
In May this year, many refugees returned to their ancestral homes in Abadam following almost similar attack.
