Arsenal fans have been given a message of hope by one of their former players as the club continue to struggle this season.
The Gunners have been firing blanks in the Premier League this term, being in 15th place just five points above the relegation places and winning just one of their last eight matches.
Arsenal’s last victory in the Premier League was on 1 November against Manchester United at Old Trafford and they have lost their last four home matches.
However, Nigerian great and member of the Arsenal Invincibles that went the 2003/2004 league season unbeaten, Nwankwo Kanu, believes it is not all doom and gloom.
“In life we fall but the will to rise up again is what matters so don’t ever fall and stay down. So rise up and keep going #arsenal @arsenal #gunners #coyg @premierleague #football #england #africa #nigeria #riseup #life,” Kanu, 44, tweeted and attached a picture of himself in an Arsenal jersey during his playing days.
Kanu’s tweet on Wednesday was posted just two hours before Arsenal face Southampton in another tough Premier League fixture at the Emirates Stadium.
While Arsenal are in poor shape and the fans have turned on their manager Mikel Arteta, the Saints are riding high.Southampton are fourth in the table with 23 points, just two points behind leaders Tottenham Hotspur.
Arsenal are 15th with just 13 points from 12 matches, which is relegation form.Attachments area
