SINGER turned politician, Olubankole Wellington, better known as Banky W, has stated that his political posters are being vandalised by the opposition.
He took to the video blogging platform, Instagram on Friday, to share a video of his posters being destroyed. In the footage, a man was stripping roadside posters with a spray.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) House of Representatives candidate for Eti-Osa constituency alleged that it was done by the opposition party.
“Evidence of what our opponents are doing to oppress our efforts… But no matter how they try to tear us down, we get back up and keep going,” he wrote.
Speaking in the video footage, the ‘Lagos Party’ crooner and ‘Wedding Party’ actor, argued that his rivals can only try to bring him down but they will be unsuccessful.
“They can only try to bully and suppress us but it will not work. It is unfair, but it will be unsuccessful. Stand with us. Fight with us. Enough is enough. We have an election to win. Victory now loading,” Banky W added.
However, the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on new media, Jubril Gawat, took to Twitter to counter Banky’s claim. He argued that the musician wasn’t the only politician affected.
Buttressing his point, Gawat shared a video in which all the posters, irrespective of the political parties, were removed. He, however, did not give reasons for the removal.
