IMO: Gunmen attack police station, kill officer

GUNMEN stormed the Oguta Police Division in the Oguta Local Government Area of Imo State, yesterday night killing one police officer.

Sources however revealed that several brave police officers who were on duty engaged the shooters in a gunfight and defeated them.

The shooters reportedly fled after killing a police officer while still suffering bullet wounds.

The attackers on arrival, reportedly tossed homemade bombs into the police station and started shooting at the officers in uniform.

Henry Okoye, a state police spokesperson who confirmed the incident, revealed that the attackers were repulsed.

This is coming less than a week since the attack on Agwa Police Station.
