THE Confederation of African Football has confirmed the dates and stadiums that will host the matchdays three and four of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign.
A total of 44 national teams will be in action between March 22 and March 24 in the qualifiers, with the Super Eagles one of the sides aiming to consolidate on their good start.
The three-time African champions will welcome Guinea-Bissau to the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja on Friday, March 24 for their matchday 3 clash.
The Nigerian side will be looking to extend their lead at the top of Group A, following their victories over Sao Tome and Principe and Sierra Leone.
Nigeria’s matchday 4 fixture is away to Guinea-Bissau three days later as Jose Peseiro’s side aim for four wins from four matches.
In Group B, leaders Burkina Faso host Togo, who are looking for their first victory of the qualifiers following their loss to Cape Verde that was followed by a draw with Eswatini. The fixture is billed for Friday, March 24.
Also in Group B, Cape Verde will host Eswatini on the same day, as both teams battle to reach the African showpiece.
Five-time African champions Cameroon face Namibia in the Indomitable Lions’ first Group C action on Thursday, March 23 following their walkover result over Kenya as they stay top of the group.
Egypt, who are surprisingly at the bottom of Group D as a result of goal difference, welcome Malawi to the Cairo International Stadium on Friday, March 24 while Guinea play host to Ethiopia in at the Mohammed V Stadium in Casablanca, Morocco on the same day.
In Group E, Ghana are home to joint-leaders Angola at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi on Thursday, March 23.
The new Nelson Mandela Stadium in Algiers will be the venue for Group F leaders Algeria’s clash against second-placed Niger on the night of Thursday, March 23, while Uganda play host to Tanzania at the Suez Canal Stadium in Ismailia, Egypt the day after.
In Group J, leaders Tunisia will battle fellow North Africans Libya at the Martyrs of Benina Stadium on Thursday, March 24.
In Group K, Liberia take on South Africa in a must-win match for both sides on Thursday, March 24, while champions Senegal face Mozambique at the Me Abdoulaye Wade de Diamniadio Stadium in Dakar on the same night in a Group L fixture.
