CHELSEA secured their third straight victory in all competitions today, beating Leicester City in their Premier League clash at the King Power Stadium.

After wins over Leeds United and Borussia Dortmund, Chelsea’s resurgence continued today, with Ben Chilwell, Kai Havertz and Mateo Kovacic scoring to further ease the pressure on manager Graham Potter.

Zambia striker Patson Daka scored Leicester City’s goal, which had levelled the score, before Chelsea pulled away in the second half.

Super Eagles forward Kelechi Iheanacho was on from the start for Leicester City and had an ineffectual game for 76 minutes before being replaced by Jamie Vardy moments before Chelsea’s decisive third goal.

Iheanacho’s international teammate Wilfred Ndidi was an unused substitute for Leicester City for the third time in five games in all competitions as he appears to have lost his untouchable status at the club.

The result meant Leicester City fell to 16th spot, just one point away from the drop zone, while Chelsea maintain their 10th position.

In another Premier League fixture, the ever-present Nigeria international Alex Iwobi featured for Everton until added time as they returned to winning ways with a 1-0 victory over Brentford at Goodison Park.

Dwight McNeil’s first minute goal made all the difference for the struggling Toffees, who rose to 15th in the table, two points above the relegation places, as ambitious Brentford remain in ninth place.

Tottenham Hotspur also secured a win in their battle to finish in the top four, beating Nottingham Forest 3-1 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Harry Kane scored twice and Son Heung-min added the other goal for Spurs, while Joe Worral netted a late consolation for Forest, who missed a stoppage time penalty through Ghana forward Andre Ayew.

Super Eagles forward Emmanuel Dennis replaced Jesse Lingard at half-time for Forest, who are 14th.

Spurs stay in fourth place and moved to within one point of third-placed Manchester United, who have two games in hand.

Antonio Conte’s side also crucially steered six points clear of fifth-placed Liverpool, who have played one fewer game.
