THE Federal Controller of Works for Lagos State, Umar Bakare, announced that measures had been taken to make it easier to travel on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway during the Easter break, particularly near construction sites.

Bakare informed the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that construction-related detours that had been put in place on some stretches of the expressway had been cleared.

He added that all crash barriers surrounding OPIC on the carriageway leading to Ibadan had been taken down, and the area had been made clear to allow for unrestricted traffic flow.

In order to ensure smooth travels from Lagos, he stated that a second slip road had been built around the Kara Bridge section on the same side.

The controller added that the emergency measures were taken because of some early morning impediments and surge in the vehicular movement outward Lagos.

He added that the construction works around OPIC had advanced, making it easy to quickly open all the four lanes to traffic.

”Three lanes are available and open to traffic around the Kara section for easier passage.
