*B.A English (Literature) bagged at 20…
I JUST had the privilege of defending my thesis at the Department of English, Lagos State University, Ojo
Project Title: The Writer is a Righter: A Bird’s Eye View of Wole Soyinka’s Activism.
Just a boy from the south side of Badagry, with a bag of dreams to librate others. May it never get less busy from here, all I pray for is the capacity to handle it all.
First and foremost, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to my thesis supervisor, whose insightful feedback and guidance have been invaluable throughout this project. I am also immensely grateful to the faculty members of the English Department at Lagos State University for their knowledge investment, support and encouragement throughout my studies.
I feel a profound need to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the Nobel Laureate Wole Soyinka, whose initiative gave me a platform to thrive as a poet and student (Since the age of 12). My experience with him inspired my choice of topic and a vast array of his works were the necessary resources needed for this research.
My deepest appreciation goes to my Dad, Mum and Siblings for the huge sacrifice for me to soar to the cliff of higher education. Many thanks to my friends and amazing people in my life. I would like to acknowledge my team members and academic families: Lagos State Youth Ambassadors, LASU Debate Society and Literary Voice Club.
Once more, I would like to thank my lecturers and a senior colleague Adedamola Jones Adedayo for granting me access to the rare and valuable literary manuscripts, journals, poems and essays due to my extremely busy schedule in the past few months.
My academic journey would not have been memorable without the support and contributions of each and every one of the individuals and groups mentioned. I am forever grateful for their support and I hope that this work will contribute to the ongoing dialogue in the field of Literature.
Above all, I stand in awe of the giver of breath to my nostril in order to host infinite wonders and be spirit-filled. Abba father, the wind for me to mount with wings as eagles and to chase thousands to flight from the earth’s angles. Grateful to the one who makes zoe my reality from dawn to twilight and causing virtues to rush before my sight.
Idan don pass Idanwo and Idan don graduate. On to the next.🚀📖❤️✨
