THE Falconets recorded their second consecutive victory at the WAFU B Women’s U-20 Championship in Kumasi, Ghana tonight with a 6-0 rout of Togo.

The Nigerian girls have now won their two games with wide margins, having beaten Niger Republic 7-0 in their opening match on Sunday at the same Baba Yara Stadium where they recorded tonight’s victory.

Amina Bello and Flourish Sabastine both scored twice, with Esther Onyenezide and Opeyemi Ajakaye contributing one goal each.

It was Bello who opened the floodgates of goals in the 11th minute, with Sabastine doubling Nigeria’s advantage just one minute after.

Onyenezide joined the party in the 30th minute from the penalty spot as the FIFA U-20 World Cup quarter-finalists headed into the break 3-0 up.

The Falconets added two goals in two minutes in the second half, Bello netting her second in the 59th minute and Ajakaye registering two minutes later.

Sabastine rounded off the scoring in the 76th minute to complete her brace as the Falconets flew into the semi-finals.

They will finish their group games on Saturday when they battle Burkina Faso at the Paa Joe Stadium, also in Kumasi.
