THE Federal Government has reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing the nation’s transportation system, particularly with the elimination of fuel subsidies.
The Secretary to the Government of the Federation Senator George Akume reaffirmed this at the today’s commissioning of 130 operational vehicles to increase the operational capacity of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC).
The Permanent Secretary of the Federal Capital Territory Administration, Adesola Olusade, and the FRSC management attended the event, which was held at the corps’ national headquarters in Abuja during a heavy downpour.
The SGF commended the FRSC’s efforts and dedication to road safety, stressing the administration of President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to enhancing the nation’s transportation system.
The Corps Marshal, Dauda Biu, outlined how the newly acquired operational vehicles would be utilised.
While addressing the concerns of road users over the conduct of traffic management officials on official duty, Biu said he was not happy about such complaints and the daily overloading of vehicles.
With the acquisition of the newly operational vehicles, Nigerians would expect that the officers and men of the corps exhibit more preparedness to serve optimally he said.
