THE former National President of the Nigeria Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (NACCIMA) and the Iyalode of Yorubaland, Chief Alaba Lawson, has passed on.
This was revealed today in a statement issued in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital by the Executive Secretary of the Ogun Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture, Maku Abdul Rahaman.
The statement reads partly, “We regret to announce the demise of NACCIMA past president & ABEOCCIMA Matron/Chairman, Board of Trustees, Iyalode Alaba Lawson, which occurred in the early hours of today Saturday, 28th October, 2023.”
Lawson, was also the Iyalode of Egbaland and the Chairman of the Ogun State-owned Moshood Abiola Polytechnic in Abeokuta till her death.
She was a brilliant politician, businesswoman, and academic. She was born in Abeokuta on January 18, 1951.
