GERMAN Chancellor Olaf Scholz will today host the G20 Compact with Africa (CwA) Conference, which President Bola Tinubu will attend from Abuja.

President Tinubu will discuss the immediate improvement of economic and business cooperation with other heads of state and government of CwA member nations, bilateral partners, and heads of international organizations during the conference. The goal is to outline specific steps to increase investments in vital sectors like energy, trade, infrastructure, and new technologies, among others.

According to Ajuri Ngelale, the President’s Special Advisor on Media and Publicity, the G20 CwA Conference, which is being co-hosted by the German government and German business associations, will coincide with the Fourth G20 Investment Summit.

This visit, according to him, also demonstrates President Tinubu’s commitment to diplomatic reciprocity, as the German Chancellor’s invitation to Germany is being honored following the German Chancellor’s visit to Abuja and Lagos, Nigeria.

Taking advantage of the Fourth G20 Investment Summit, the Nigerian delegation will build on previous productive meetings with high-ranking representatives from German business organizations who were part of the German Chancellor’s official delegation to Nigeria.
