PLATEAU: Police teargas 16 dismissed PDP lawmakers

ARMED officers have today teargassed the 16 Peoples Democratic Party members of the Plateau State House of Assembly who were dismissed by the Court of Appeal.

The lawmakers and their supporters had arrived at the Rayfield Old Government House in Jos this morning, preparatory to their resumption of plenary, when the event occurred.

Police and other security personnel took over the Government House and blocked the sacked lawmakers from entering the House of Assembly chambers, however, the lawmakers refused to leave.
