THE Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, has chosen Edison Ehie, the head of his loyalists in the State House of Assembly, to serve as his Chief of Staff.

Ehie had been a contender for the position of Speaker before resigning from the Assembly as part of efforts to restore peace in the state.

He was rumoured a few weeks ago to have been appointed to replace Chidi Amadi, a loyalist of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, who resigned alongside some commissioners late last year.

However, Fubara in a statement issued by the Secretary to the Rivers State Government, Dr. Tammy Danagogo officially named him as his chief of staff

Additionally, five others were appointed as Special Advisers, including Darlington Oji, Solomon Abel-Eke, Prince Ohia, Aminayanasam Fiberesima, and Deeyah Bariene.

The new appointees will be sworn in by Governor Fubara at the State Executive Council Chambers at 11 am today.
