THE first civilian governor of Yobe State, Bukar Abba Ibrahim, died while seeking medical care in Saudi Arabia.
Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni has verified the death of the former Senator representing Yobe East district.
Buni’s Director General of Press and Media Affairs, Mamman Mohammed, revealed that the former governor died today and would be buried in Saudi Arabia.
Governor Mai Mala Buni will receive condolences at Damaturu’s Government House, he said.
Abba Ibrahim, a well-known politician, died at the age of 75. He is the husband of Khadija Bukar Abba Ibrahim, a member of the Gujba, Gulani, Damaturu, and Tarmuwa Federal Constituency.
Governor Buni has also directed that the state government handle all other parts of the funeral and condolences to give the late governor a proper state burial and dignity.
