VICTOR Osimhen was not able to return to Napoli today as earlier planned due to a missed flight, according to reports in Italy.

Osimhen’s journey back to his base in Italy has been delayed after his connecting flight was missed.

The 25-year-old flew from Nigeria to a European capital before heading to Campania, and a delay led to him missing the connecting flight.
Osimhen, who was the top scorer in Serie A last season as Napoli won their first Scudetto in 33 years, has missed his club’s last seven fixtures across Serie A and the Supercoppa Italiana due to Nigeria’s impressive run at AFCON 2023.
He has remained a key figure at Napoli despite their struggles but he is still widely expected to leave in the summer transfer window, having recently told the media that he has already decided his next step.
Osimhen should still arrive in Naples today but will not join the Napoli squad’s training session and is now in serious doubt for Saturday’s Serie A clash against Genoa.
