Arik Air has clarified that the incident that resulted in stranded passengers at Port Harcourt Airport on April 2 was due to adverse weather conditions.
The airline made this disclosure in a statement signed by its Public Relations Manager, Adebanji Ola, on Thursday.
Recent viral videos have surfaced showing passengers of Arik Air expressing frustration over being left stranded at Port Harcourt Airport after their flight to Lagos was abruptly cancelled.
The affected passengers, scheduled for a flight from Port Harcourt in Rivers State to Lagos State, took to social media platforms to share their grievances.
However, the airline reiterated its commitment to safety, highlighting its strict policy to avoid flying in inclement weather conditions, which necessitated the cancellation of the affected flight.
It extended its apologies to customers whose travel plans were disrupted by the unforeseen circumstances, reaffirming its dedication to prioritising passenger welfare.
