A flood tragedy struck the Nguroje community in Taraba State’s Sardauna Local Government Area, killing at least one person and leaving another missing.
The severe downpour, which lasted several hours, displaced many people and devastated crops.
Confirming the incident, Taraba State House of Assembly Member representing Nguroje Constituency, Nelson Lens, described the incident as unfortunate.
According to him, this is the first of its kind in the region.
He stated that building of waterways channels has begun to prevent a recurrence, and relief goods have been distributed to victims to alleviate their hardship.
He insists that the search for the missing person continues, and identifies the deceased as Gomma Saidu.
