NIGERIA Premier Football League giants Kano Pillars and Enugu Rangers have been drawn to play each other in the round of 64 of the Federation Cup.
The draw held in Abuja today pitted last year’s runners-up Rangers with fellow traditional powers Pillars in the headline fixture of the round.
Also during the national draw conducted inside the NFF Secretariat today, Cup holders Bendel Insurance were picked out of the bowl to face Ogun State representatives, Stormers Sports Club.
Shooting Stars of Ibadan, also known as 3SC, who have been in good form in the NPFL, will battle Solution FC, while two-time CAF Champions League winners Enyimba of Aba will play Warinje FC from Bauchi.
In the women’s draw, Cup holders Bayelsa Queens are up against Bright Future Queens, while Rivers Angels will face Ekiti Queens and Delta Queens tackle Fortress Ladies.
Last year’s runners-up Rivers Angels confront Ekiti Queens, with Delta Queens clashing with Fortress Ladies and Edo Queens to battle it out with Kada Queens.
At the draw, NFF President Ibrahim Musa Gusau assured that the body is committed to restoring the glamour of the oldest football competition in the country, while also pledging that the integrity of the competition will be maintained all through the men’s and women’s events.
