VETERAN singer Oladapo Oyebanjo, popularly known as D’banj, is marking a milestone in his career. He is celebrating 20 years in the music industry.
Taking to Instagram on Tuesday, the 41-year-old singer and rapper expressed heartfelt appreciation for his long-time business partner and friend, Michael Ajereh, better known as Don Jazzy.
D’banj shared a nostalgic video, inviting Don Jazzy to his anniversary dinner, and reflected on their two-decade journey characterized by brotherhood, entertainment, and unwavering support.
“My 20-year journey cannot be complete without @donjazzy again! Giving him the invite to my anniversary dinner was a moment filled with nostalgia,” D’banj wrote. “As we both celebrate 20 years in the industry, I’m reminded of the countless memories and milestones we’ve shared together. Here’s to two decades of brotherhood, entertainment, and unwavering support. Love you always, Brother!”
Don Jazzy, a renowned Nigerian record producer and CEO of Mavin Records, responded warmly in the comments. “Still finding it hard to believe it’s been 20 years bro. Feels like yesterday. Thank you for everything. Love you brotherLee. More blessings.”
The duo’s partnership began with the co-founding of Mo’Hits Records in 2004, which played a pivotal role in shaping the Nigerian music scene.
D’banj also announced plans to celebrate his 20th anniversary at the New Afrika Shrine in Lagos, with an event themed “D’banj Live @ New Afrika Shrine,” promising a night of electrifying performances and memories.
