The former Manchester United defender has erased the possibility of a fight between him and his former team-mate and current United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

Rio Ferdinand has clarified speculation of any issue between him and Ole Gunnar.

The pair appeared to have had a public feud last week when Ferdinand claimed Solskjaer should have told Cristiano Ronaldo to sit down after the Portuguese came off the bench to rush into the technical area in their recent Champions League loss to BSC Young Boys.

While covering the game for BT Sport, Ferdinand had said: “If I’m the manager, I’ve got to be honest, I’m telling him to sit down.”

While Ole had explained that Ronaldo was actually protesting a move, before claiming: “Rio again, you know, sometimes he comments on things he doesn’t really know.

“It should have been a yellow card for the boy when he brought down Nemanja. Both Bruno and Cristiano, as competitive as they are, suddenly I had them on my shoulder.

“They were there for a brief spell and shouted to the referee, that was the aggravation of getting a few bad decisions against us.

“But then Cristiano sat down, Bruno sat down. We know that there is only one man allowed in that technical area and that’s either me or Carras (Michael Carrick) or Mick (Phelan) or Kieran (McKenna) who is up there.”

Ferdinand has since stated that there is no bad blood on his part and will soon inform the Norwegian the next time they meet.

Speaking in a short clip uploaded to his Twitter profile, Ferdinand claimed: “Ole’s come for me in the paper the other day. I can’t believe it.
