OGUN: Igboho in Yewa, vows to purge community of ‘killer’ herdsmen

POPULAR Yoruba activist, Sunday Adeyemo, better known as Sunday Igboho arrived in Ogun State on Monday to help purge the troubled areas of the state of killer herdsmen.

This is happening almost two weeks after issuing notice to quit to some Fulani herdsmen in Igangan in Ibarapa North Local Government Area of Oyo State.

Igboho reportedly got to Abeokuta around 4pm and had a brief interaction with his supporters, after which his next port of call was the Ketuland.

Ketuland, located in Yewa-North Local Government Area of Ogun State, was in the news last week for alleged brutality unleashed on the residents of the community by some soldiers.

According to the report, some soldiers allegedly connived with herdsmen to flog farmers for not allowing cattle to graze on their farms.

Residents of the community were said to have sent “save our souls” message to Igboho following his apparently fruitful intervention on herders-farmers crisis in Igangan.

While addressing his followers in Abeokuta, the activist said, “I observe there is an injustice from the herdsmen because they know the power that they have in the federal government. So, they behave as if Yoruba people are nobody. They kill our people, they kidnap our people, and they rape our women.”

“Any Fulani herdsman who engages in kidnapping would be flushed out,” Igboho vowed.

Igboho had earlier vowed that his efforts to supposedly liberate people from the clutches of killer herdsmen would not be limited to Igangan.

He said,“Not only Igangan, we are going to visit all Yorubaland and ensure there is peace everywhere.”

The activist lauded the state governor, Dapo Abiodun, for allowing him in the state.

Igboho said, “We have not visited the governor, we will do that after we have flushed the Fulani herdsmen out of the state.

“I am going to Yewa because that is where the Fulani are wreaking havoc.”
