TROOPS from the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF), operating under Sector 3, have apprehended Garba Buda, a prominent logistics courier for Boko Haram, in Guzamala, Borno State.

The 30-year-old suspect had been on the MNJTF’s wanted list for a long time due to his crucial role in providing logistical support to the terrorist group.

Buda was captured in Monguno town during a coordinated intelligence operation involving surveillance and human intelligence, which effectively disrupted a major supply chain for Boko Haram in the Lake Chad region.

Items found in his possession, including a lighter, pocket mirror, comb, cap, and wristwatch, offered further insights into his activities.

He is currently in custody and under detailed investigation.

In another operation, MNJTF troops raided a Boko Haram/ISWAP hideout in Kukawa Local Government Area, Borno State.

The terrorists fled upon the troops’ approach, leaving behind logistics that were later destroyed.

Commenting on the operations, Lieutenant Colonel Olaniyi Osoba, Chief Military Information Officer at MNJTF Headquarters in N’Djamena, Chad, stated that these successful actions demonstrate the MNJTF’s strong commitment to dismantling terrorist networks in the Lake Chad region.

He affirmed that the troops remain determined in their mission to secure and protect local communities.
