PRESIDENT Bola Ahmed Tinubu has submitted the names of the inaugural Governing Board members of the North West Development Commission (NWDC) to the Senate for confirmation.
In a statement released today by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, this follows President Tinubu’s signing of the NWDC Bill into law on July 24, a significant step in the commission’s creation.
The nominees for the NWDC Governing Board are: Chairman, Ambassador Haruna Ginsau (Jigawa); and MD/CEO, Professor Abdullahi Shehu Ma’aji (Kano).
Other board members include Dr. Yahaya Umar Namahe (Sokoto), Hon. Aminu Suleiman (Kebbi), Sen. Tijani Yahaya Kaura (Zamfara), Hon. Abdulkadir S. Usman (Kaduna), Hon. Engr. Muhammad Ali Wudil (Kano), Shamsu Sule (Katsina), and Nasidi Ali (Jigawa).
These nominees are expected to bring their extensive experience and knowledge to support the commission’s mission of developing the North-West region.
