THE Lagos State Police Command arrested two additional suspects believed to be involved in the kidnapping of Folasade Odumosu, the wife of former Assistant Inspector-General of Police, AIG Hakeem Odumosu.
The suspects, identified as 27-year-old Agbojule Smart and 30-year-old Keleke Michael, were apprehended by the Lagos State Commissioner of Police Special Squad, as confirmed by the Force Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, in a statement from the Force Headquarters in Abuja.
The statement, shared on the Nigeria Police Force’s X account, revealed that the police seized two locally made rifles, 11 live cartridges, and N2.25 million from the suspects.
“In line with the directive from Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM., to pursue the remaining suspects involved in the kidnapping of Mrs. Odumosu, the operatives of the Lagos State CP Special Squad arrested two suspects identified as Agbojule Smart (27) and Keleke Michael (30) in the early hours of today, January 24, 2025, while attempting to leave Lagos State. Folashade Odumosu was kidnapped last Thursday at the entrance of her home in Arepo, Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State. The abductors transported her through a swampy area after forcibly removing her from her Lexus SUV.
She was rescued by Nigeria Police Force operatives and regained her freedom on Wednesday.
The operation, led by Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Lanre Ogunlowo was successful and resulted in the neutralization of some kidnappers.
