SUPER EAGLES stars Fisayo Dele-Bashiru and Maduka Okoye came back from injuries last night as Lazio and Udinese played out a 1-1 draw in their Serie A clash in Rome.
Okoye was back in goal for Udinese, while midfielder Dele-Bashiru was an unused substitute for hosts Lazio.
Okoye had been out of action since sustaining a wrist injury in December that required surgery, while Dele-Bashiru had an ankle injury in February.
In a boost for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, both Nigeria internationals were included in their respective clubs’ matchday squads for last night’s clash, with Okoye reclaiming his spot as Udinese’s No.1.
Udinese opened the scoring in the 22nd minute through Florian Thauvin before Alessio Romagnoli equalised for Lazio 10 minutes later as both clubs stretched their unbeaten streaks.
It is now five straight matches without defeat for Udinese and Lazio are unbeaten in three.
With the points shared, Lazio stay fifth in the Serie A table and Udinese 10th.
The return of Dele-Bashiru and Okoye will be a welcome development for the Super Eagles coaching crew ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe on March 21 and March 25 respectively.
Both players are included in the 39-man provisional squad for the key fixtures.
