THE Kaduna State Police Command has apprehended 12 suspects involved in an attack on a mosque in the Tudun Wada area of Kaduna South Local Government Area, where a worshipper was fatally stabbed.
The command’s spokesperson, Mansir Hassan, in a statement today, revealed that the assailants, originating from Malalin Gabas, Tudun Wada, Rafin Guza, and Unguwar Baduko, targeted Muslim worshippers observing Tahajjud prayers at Layin Bliya, Makwa Road in Rigasa around 2 p.m.
Before security forces, including police operatives and the Civilian Joint Task Force, arrived at the scene, the attackers had already fatally stabbed a 28-year-old man, Usman Mohammed.
Following the incident, law enforcement swiftly arrested 12 suspects, who admitted to participating in the attack. Several weapons were also recovered during the operation.
Authorities have launched a full-scale investigation to uncover further details and ensure justice is served.
In response to the attack, the police have intensified security measures, particularly around mosques where similar prayers take place.
The command urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to aid in crime prevention.
It also issued a stern warning to criminals, emphasizing that those caught engaging in unlawful acts will face the full force of the law.
