Four persons have been confirmed dead after the driver of a Toyota Camry car lost control and rammed into commuters along the G. U Ake Road in Obio/Akpor local government area of Rivers State.
According to the police, two others who sustained injuries in the incident that occurred on Monday were rushed to the hospital for treatment.
Spokesperson of the Rivers State Police Command, Grace Iringe-Koko, disclosed this in a statement she issued in Port Harcourt on Tuesday evening.
Iringe-Koko, further said the driver of the vehicle identified as Benson Michael, has been arrested and the car recovered and moved to the police, while the matter has been transfered to the State Traffic Department for further investigation.
