RESPITE has come the way of a reporter of the Nigeria Television Authority, Port Harcourt zonal office, Chidiebere Onyia, who was kidnapped at gunpoint at rail line axis of Woji, Obio/Akpor local government area.
Onyia regained her freedom after spending five days in the clutches of her abductors.
The nursing mother was said to have been released by her abductors in the early hours of Sunday, around 12:05am.
The mother of three was abducted about 8pm last Tuesday.
Though the details of her release were still sketchy as of the time her freedom became public knowledge, the reporter was said to have reunited with her family after medical examination.
“Yes, she has been released. It is a Valentine gift to journalists. I have on my way to see her. I will release an official statement later,” Nnamdi Omoni, the spokesman of Rivers State Police Command, was quoted to have said.
