BAUCHI: Let all Nigerians carry guns for self-defense, Miyetti Allah leader tells FG

CHAIRMAN of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, (MACBAN) Bauchi State chapter, Sadiq Ibrahim Ahmed, has asked the Federal Government to let all Nigerians to be carrying weapons for their self-protection.

He said this would help to tackle the growing insecurity in the country as the government has failed in its responsibility to protect people and their property.

Ahmed said this while responding to comments by the Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed that herdsmen are often armed with AK-47 rifles and other deadly weapons in their peripatetic search for pastures for their cattle to safeguard their lives and livelihood.

”The government has become irresponsible. That is why a Fulani man has become an outcast in his own country.

“All his wealth has been crippled to activities of cattle rustlers. What do you expect him to do?

“Let everybody protect themselves, let everybody carry arms. You don’t allow a few bandits to come and ruin you, kill you, kill your family as few people cannot be terrorizing everybody,” Ahmed said.
