WEST HAM have moved into the Premier League’s top four places following a 1-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur.
Michail Antonio and Jesse Lingard scored in each half to increase the pressure on Spurs manager Jose Mourinho.
Lucas Moura pulled one back for Tottenham but it was too little, too late.
Antonio, who returned to the starting line-up after missing two matches, gave David Moyes’ side a great start inside five minutes, bundling home after Hugo Lloris had initially made an instinctive save off Jarrod Bowen’s cross.
Lingard then bagged his third goal in four Premier League two minutes into the second half.
The goal was initially disallowed for offside against Pablo Fornals but VAR ruled that the Spaniard was not interfering with play.
Substitute Gareth Bale’s corner kick was then headed home from the near post by Moura in the 64th minute to give Spurs some hope.
The Welshman came close to scoring himself 10 minutes later, hitting the crossbar with a long-range strike.
Son Heung-min also hit the post for Tottenham in added time but West Ham got the win their performance deserved.
The win was Moyes’ first over Mourinho in 16 attempts and lifted West Ham to fourth place, two points clear of Chelsea in fifth, while Spurs remain in ninth with 36 points.
