AT least 10 policemen were said to have been injured when the convoy of Governor Bala Mohammed was involved in a road accident today.
It was gathered that the accident happened when the governor was coming from a field visit to the Tafawa Balewa Local Government Area of the state.
The governor, was said to have gone to inspect inspect the 60- kilometers Burga-Yelwan Duguri road project in the LGA.
One of the vehicles in the convoy was said to have somersaulted.
The vehicle, a Toyota Hilux van, was conveying 10 police officers accompanying the governor.
The car veered off the road as it trailed the other vehicles in the convoy and somersaulted after losing control.
According to NAN this happened as a result of the huge dust that blocked the driver’s view.
All the affected security personnel have been taken to the Bununu general hospital in Tafawa Balewa LGA for treatment.
The road, which is being constructed by the state government, connects the LGA to the neighbouring Alkaleri council.
