Buhari welcomes former Speaker, Bankole, ex-Ogun Gov, Daniel to APC

THE defectors to the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) from other political parties were received today by President Buhari at the Presidential Villa, today.

The defectors, who both hail from Ogun State, are a former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dimeji Bankole; and a former Governor of Ogun, Gbenga Daniel. 

Daniel, who was the director of the Atiku campaign team in the 2019 election, dumped the People’s Democratic Party for the APC while Bankole who went into a relative political oblivion after serving as Speaker of the lower legislative chamber defected from Social Democratic Party.

They both held their former offices on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party.

They were led to the meeting with the President by the Chairman, Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee of the APC and Governor of Yobe, Mai Mala Buni; Governors of Jigawa State, Mohammed Badaru and Kebbi, Atiku Bagudu.
