Oshoala undergoes surgery, out for three weeks

SUPER Falcons striker Asisat Oshoala has undergone surgery on her foot, according to reports is Spain.

Spanish outlet Sport reported that the Barcelona Femeni star had the surgery on Tuesday and would be out of action for up to three weeks.

The report said Dr Dalmau did the surgery on Oshoala’s right foot under the supervision of Barcelona’s medical staff.

The operation was successful and Oshoala is expected to be back fit in time for the UEFA Women’s Champions League semi-finals.

The Nigeria captain played a key role in Barcelona Femeni reaching the Champions League semi-finals, scoring in both legs as the Spanish league leaders defeated Manchester City 4-2 on aggregate in the quarter-finals.

The 26-year-old four-time African Player of the Year has been one of Barcelona Femeni’s best players this season, having scored 18 goals in 26 appearances for the club in their quest for the league and Champions League titles.
