THE two dominant clubs in Italy and Frsnce in the last few years, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain, have ensured they will not finish the season without silverware following Cup wins on Wednesday.
Both clubs have monopolised their countries’ league titles for years, but Juventus have been deposed this season and PSG are on the verge of losing their title too.
They made some amends on Wednesday night, Juventus beating Fiorentina 2-1 in the Italian Cup final as PSG defeated Monaco 2-0 in the French Cup finale.
In the Coppa Italia final, Dejan Kulusevski gave Juventus the lead in the 31st minute, but Ruslan Malinovski equalised for Atalanta 10 minutes later.
Federico Chiesa scored the winner in the 73rd minute to give embattled manager Andreas Pinto his first trophy.
In the Coupe de France, Mauro Icardi and Kylian Mbappe scored in each half to give PSG a comfortable win.
