MAJOR General Farouk Yahaya today assumed command as the 22nd Chief of Army Staff at army headquarters, Abuja.
Yahaya was appointed on Thursday by President Muhammdu Buhari to replace the late Lt. General Ibrahim Attahiru who died alongside 10 other military officers when a Beachcraft 350 aircraft crashed at the Kaduna International Airport on May 21.

The new army chief signed the condolence register at the headquarters’ theatre command of Operation Hadin Kai, Maimalari Cantonment, Maiduguri, Borno State.
