THE Lagos Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has joined music lovers to mourn the passing of the afropop artiste, Olanrewaju Fasasi, popularly known as Sound Sultan.
In a statement issued by the Public Relations Executive, Samuel O. Adeyemi, today, Chairman of the chapter, Comfort Nwankwo, commiserated with the family of the late artiste and music lovers over the sad event.
The statement reads: “On behalf of the Excos and members of the Lagos Chapter of NIPR, known as the Big Apple, I will like to register our condolence to the family of Sound Sultan and other music lovers across the state.”
“We can’t but recall with nostalgia the electrifying performance of Sound Sultan six months ago at the Lagos PR Industry Gala and Awards (LaPRIGA).”
Nwankwo further noted that “Sound Sultan’s performance at LaPRIGA put smiles on our faces, took us down memory lane and accelerated our feet on the dancing floor.”



“It’s our prayers that God will comfort every member of his family during this difficult time.”
The multi-talented singer passed on at the age of 44 following his battle with Angioimmunoblastic T- Cell Lymphoma.
The artist, who is famous for his song Mathematics, had already commenced chemotherapy in one of the hospitals in USA before he died today.
