BANDITS who abducted the Emir of Kajuru, Alhassan Adamu, have demanded a ransom of N200 million for his release, this is according to the spokesperson of the Kajuru Emirate Council, Dahiru Abubakar, today.
Confirming the abduction in the early hours of yesterday in a statement, the State Police Command said the 85-year-old traditional ruler was attacked and kidnapped in his residence around 2:34 am by bandits who stormed the community in large numbers and carried dangerous weapons.
Apart from the Emir, 10 members of his family were also abducted, the Police confirmed.
The emirate council’s spokesperson, Abubakar said the bandits also gave assurances that all the victims are in good condition and were not being molested.
He noted that on its part, the council is appealing for the unconditional release of the traditional ruler and others kidnapped with him.
