Initiated by the actress, theatre producer, Bikiya Graham-Douglas, Beeta Playwriting Competition is organised annually by the BEETA Ats Foundation.
The competition, according to the award-winning initiator, Bikiya, “creates opportunities for emerging Nigerian residents and Diaspora playwrights between ages 18 and 45”.
Temilolu Fosudo won with his play, BACK DUST. He was one of the 10 finalists selected by the Jury from over 500 entries.
He is the son of the veteran actor and theatre teacher, Prof Sola Fosudo, currently head of Department of Theatre and Music at the Lagos State University, LASU and, Yetunde Fosudo, theatre arts-trained former Deputy Manager at the National Theatre, and now a Commissioner at the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, in Ekiti State.
