FORMER Flying Eagles midfielder Tom Dele-Bashiru has been sent out on loan by Watford, the newly promoted Premier League club announced on Thursday night.

The young Nigerian will spend the season at Championship side Reading.

“Watford FC can confirm that Tom Dele-Bashiru has joined Reading on a season-long loan,” the Hornets confirmed on their official website.

“The 21-year-old joined the Hornets from Manchester City at the start of the 2019/20 season.”

Dele-Bashiru, who featured for the Flying Eagles at the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Poland in 2019, had his campaign cut short by injury last season, making only two appearances as Watford gained promotion back to the Premier League.

Reading finished seventh in the Championship last season, a spot below the play-off places, and are targeting promotion this term.

“Can’t wait to get started! @ReadingFC,” Dele-Bashiru tweeted after the move was announced.
