NIGERIAN forward Ademola Lookman has returned to the English Premier League in a loan move to Leicester City.

The 23-year-old, born in England to Nigerian parents, was on loan last season with Fulham from his German club RB Leipzig.

“Talented winger Ademola Lookman has joined Leicester City on loan from Bundesliga side RB Leipzig, subject to Premier League approval,” FA Cup holders Leicester City announced on transfer deadline day Tuesday.

Lookman made 35 appearances for Fulham in the Premier League last season, and has played for England at Under-19, Under-20 and Under-21 levels.

He will team up with fellow Nigerians Kelechi Iheanacho and Wilfred Ndidi at the King Power Stadium.

“I’m delighted to be here. It’s a great honour to be at such a big and amazing club with such a huge history and a quality group of players,” Lookman told LCFC TV.

“The facilities are incredible. It’s pretty mind-blowing and I just can’t wait to get to work here. I think environment is very important for a player, so this is the right environment for me to work hard every single day and to help my craft be even better.”

In another deadline day deal, Wales international Daniel James joined Leeds United from Premier League rivals Manchester United in a five-year deal for a fee believed to be around £25m.

“Leeds United is delighted to confirm the signing of Daniel James from Manchester United,” the club announced.

“The winger was close to joining Leeds during the 2018/19 Championship season and has continued to impress through his hard-working nature and lightning pace.

“The Whites have now secured the Wales international on a five-year contract, which will run until the summer of 2026, for an undisclosed fee.”

The speedy James made his senior international debut in November 2018 and has made 24 appearances for Wales to date, recently starring for the team during the 2020 UEFA European Football Championship.

James is Leeds’ eighth signing of the summer transfer window and will join the squad after international break, ahead of our home clash against Liverpool.

He will wear the number 20 shirt during his time at Leeds United.

In Spain, Real Madrid completed a deadline day deal, bringing in 18-year-old France midfielder Edourd Cavamiga from Rennes.

“Real Madrid C. F. and Stade Rennais F. C. have reached an agreement over the transfer of Eduardo Camavinga, who joins the club on a six-year deal, until 30 June 2027,” the Spanish giants confirmed.
