KADUNA: Bandits kill five vigilantes in Birnin Gwari

FIVE members of a vigilance group have been killed by banduts along Kaduna-Birnin Gwari highway .

The attack took place around 5:30 pm yesterday, according to sources.

Liman Husaini Udawa, a community leader, told newsmen that the victims were attacked near Unguwar Yako.

He said the vigilantes were returning from Kaduna when the incident happened.

“They were ambushed and their vehicle was set ablaze near unguwar Yako along the highway by the bandits. As we speak we recovered five bodies of our vigilantes three escaped,” he said.

He said they will be buried at Udawa town in Chikun Local Government Area of the state.
