NIGERIAN youngster Michael Olise finally tasted Premier League action on Saturday, helping Crystal Palace to beat Tottenham Hotspur 3-0 at Selhurst Park.

Olise, who is eligible for his country of heritage Nigeria despite being born in England and having played for France U-18s, came off the bench and was involved in the third goal.

The 19-year-old replaced Ghana forward Jordan Ayew in the 87th minute and played a part in the last goal six minutes later, passing to Conor Gallagher who set up Odsonne Edouard to score.

Olise joined Palace from Reading for £8m in July after being named Championship Young Player of the Year, but his debut was delayed by a back injury.

Palace were already 2-0 up before Olise’s introduction, Patrick Vieira’s side taking advantage of the red card to Japhet Tanganga.

The Spurs centre-back was sent off in the 58th minute for a second yellow card with scores still 0-0.

Palace were in front 18 minutes later, Wilfred Zaha scoring from the penalty spot after Ben Davies handled the ball in the Spurs box.

It was 2-0 in the 84th minute as Edouard scored from his first touch moments after replacing Christian Benteke.

Edouard completed his debut brace in the third minute of added time as Palace handed Spurs their first defeat of the season.

Spurs are still on top of the Premier League with nine points having won their first three fixtures, while Palace’s first win took them up to 11th with five points in four games.
