LIONEL Messi has returned to training with Paris Saint-Germain ahead of their UEFA Champions League clash with Manchester City.

The Argentina captain has been out for two weeks with a knee strain but was pictured training with his colleagues in Paris on Monday.

PSG host Manchester City on Tuesday in a matchday 2 encounter, with the French side looking for their first Champions League win of the season.

While PSG drew 1-1 at Club Brugge on matchday one, City defeated RB Leipzig 6-3 at the Etihad Stadium.

Messi’s last appearance for PSG was in the Ligue 1 clash against Lyon on 19 September, and the six-time Ballon d’Or winner is yet to score or assist for the French moneybags since his shock move from Barcelona in August.

Italy midfielder Marco Verratti, who has been out for several weeks with injury, was also present during PSG’s training on Monday morning.

Meanwhile, Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford said on Monday he hopes to return to light contact training soon.

The England star is recovering from shoulder surgery, which he had in August, and has not played at all this season.

The 23-year-old posted a message on Twitter that reads: “Happy Monday. I see the doctor on Friday for a consultation.

“All being well, I will get the green (light) to join in with contact training again.”

Rashford has missed eight matches in all competitions so far this season for Manchester United, and will watch from the sidelines as they host Spanish side Villarreal in the Champions League on Wednesday.

They then face Everton in the Premier League three days later.

Rashford also missed England’s World Cup qualifiers against Hungary, Andorra and Poland.
