THERE are strong indications that Michael Olise would rather play for Algeria or France than Nigeria.
The 19-year-old Crystal Palace midfielder is eligible for Nigeria through his father but could also opt for Algeria, France and England if he desires.
He was born in England to a Nigerian father and a mother with French and Algeria heritage, hence his eligibility for all these countries.
Although Nigeria made a move and invited the talented youngster into the Super Eagles squad as a stand-by player for the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in March, he is believed to prefer the other options.
He was said to have been open to playing for the Super Eagles at the time when he was still on the books of second-tier English club Reading.
He was however said to be tilting towards Algeria after switching to Premier League club Crystal Palace.
However, he is also ready to play for France if he is not considered by African champions Algeria.
Olise has already played for France U-18s at the Toulon Tournament in 2019, making two appearances for them.
The teenager scored his first goal for Crystal Palace in the 2-2 Premier League draw with Leicester City on Sunday.
