KELECHI Iheanacho was in inspired form on Saturday, helping Leicester City to a 4-2 Premier League victory over Manchester United at the King Power Stadium.

The win ended Manchester United’s Premier League record of consecutive away games at 29.

Super Eagles forward Iheanacho was the brightest spot in the Leicester City side early on, and he played a big part in their first goal, setting up Youri Tielemans in the first half.

Tielemans, Jamie Vardy, Caglar Soyuncu and Patson Daka scored Leicester City’s goals, while Mason Greenwood and Marcus Rashford struck for Manchester United.

Against the run of play, Greenwood gave United the lead with a long-range effort in the 19th minute.

Iheanacho then harassed Harry Maguire and dispossessed the United captain before setting up Tielemans for a superb equaliser in the 31st minute. The Nigeria international has now been directly involved in four goals in his last four games for Leicester: two goals and two assists.

Soyuncu gave Leicester City the lead for the first time in the 78th minute, touching the ball home after United failed to clear a corner kick.

United responded again, substitute Rashford equalising four minutes later in his first appearance this season.

Vardy restored Leicester City’s lead straight from kick-off, while Daka, who replaced Iheanacho in the 77th minute, rounded off the scoring in added time.

Daka, who joined Leicester City this season, became the first Zambian player in the competition’s history to score a Premier League goal.

Following the result, United dropped to fifth with 14 points as Leicester moved up to 11th with 11 points.

In other Premier League fixtures on Saturday afternoon, champions Manchester City eased to a 2-0 victory over visiting Burnley with goals from Bernardo Silva and Kevin De Bruyne, while Norwich and Brighton played a goalless draw.

Also in the Premier League afternoon kick-offs on Saturday, Southampton bagged a 1-0 win over Leeds United as Wolverhampton Wanderers defeated their hosts Aston Villa 3-2.
