STAFF at the headquarters of Television Continen-tal (TVC) in Lagos were thrown into a panic today when hoodlums descended on the station and set it ablaze.
Confirming the incident, Tope Mark-Odigie, a TVC anchor, in an Instagram video, said the station was attacked by some hoodlums.
She said the policemen stationed in the area took to their heels on seeing the mob.
TVC is believed to be owned by Asiwaju Bola Ah-med Tinubu, a national leader of the All Progres-sives Congress(APC) and former governor of Lagos State.
Meanwhile, in a similar development, journalists and staff of Channels Television ran for safety to-day for fear of a mob attack.
It was gathered that the television station decided to go off air hours after the attack on TVC.
The management of Channels TV, it was learnt, took the decision to forestall attack on the station having caught a whiff of possible danger.
The mob had reportedly vowed to make the station its next “port of call” after TVC.
Hoodlums have unleashed attacks on Nigerians protesting against police brutality and visiting vio-lence on security formations.
There has been a general breakdown of law and or-der in the state.
Police stations have been razed and government property destroyed by the hoodlums who seized the protests against police brutality.
Anti-riot policemen and soldiers have been de-ployed in the streets to arrest the situation
Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, imposed a 24-hour curfew yesterday but the crowd of protesters defied the order, leading to the bloody incident recorded at the Lekki Tollgate yesterday evening in which a disputed number of people was said to have been killed or injured.
