INTER Milan manager Antonio Conte has left the club after just two seasons.
The Italian club confirmed his departure on Wednesday evening after a swirl of speculation all day.
“FC Internazionale Milano can confirm that an agreement has been reached with Antonio Conte for the termination of his contract by mutual consent,” the club said in a terse statement.
“The Club would like to thank Antonio for the extraordinary work that he has done, culminating in Inter’s 19th top-flight title. Antonio Conte will forever remain a part of our club’s history.”
Conte joined Inter Milan in 2019 and led them to their first Serie A title in 11 years this season.
There were reports that both parties fell out because the club planned to sell off some key players, a move Conte kicked against.
The Italian, who has managed Juventus and Chelsea to league titles, will reportedly be paid €7m by Inter Milan as settlement.
