‘I’m fine’: Eriksen posts positive update after scary collapse

CHRISTIAN Eriksen has shown evidence that he is doing fine in hospital three days after the world held its breath and prayed for him.

The Denmark midfielder slumped and suffered cardiac arrest on Saturday during his country’s Euro 2020 fixture against Finland in Copenhagen, and lay still for a few minutes.

Thankfully, following quick intervention from his teammates and medical personnel, the Inter Milan star was revived and taken to hospital.
The match was suspended until later in the evening and the distressed Danes lost 1-0 to their neighbours.

However, the positive news of Eriksen’s recovery overshadowed the defeat as the football world heaved a sigh of relief that he survived the ordeal.

There have been updates from UEFA and the Danish team, all emphasising that Eriksen is in a stable condition.

On Tuesday, the 29-year-old brought more cheering news by posting a picture on Instagram of himself smiling and giving the ‘thumbs up’ sign from his hospital bed.

He wrote: “Hello everyone. Big thanks for your sweet and amazing greetings and messages from all around the world.

“It means a lot to me and my family.
“I’m fine – under the circumstances. I still have to go through some examinations at the hospital, but I feel okay.

“Now, I’ll cheer on the boys in the Denmark team in the next matches. Play for all of Denmark.
“Best. Christian.”

Denmark’s next match is against Belgium on Thursday.
